Heaven knows I'm miserable now

(Oh, Morrissey, you speak to my congested head! )
Shirt: Marshalls (9.00)
Jeans: H&M (24.00)
Shoes: Sperry's via thrift (7.00)
Sunnies: Fred Flare (11.00)
Necklace: Dolly and Boy
Ugh what a week, I know I shouldn't apologize for not blogging this week but I hate getting off my normal schedule. Truth is, I've been out of commission with the worst cold for the past two days. I'm tired, I'm stuffy, I'm achy...I'm absolutely useless. I did have to make a run for supplies this afternoon, which is why I'm posting pictures: I refuse to go to the store in pajama pants. Unacceptable to me, I know I would probably be better off most times if I just sucked it up and went without worrying what I looked like, but I can't, I have to get dressed. So, this is what I put on, because it's incredibly beautiful out today too, I felt a little springy as I schlepped out of Target carrying my Tylenol Cold and Tissues. I was definitely that woman who refused to remove her sunnies indoors, because what lies beneath them is too scary for the public. I am such a baby when I'm sick and it shows.
I also thought I would show you a couple of special finds I've come across in my thrifting. Chris and I usually hit up Savers and Salvation Army every weekend, and they have both been incredibly fruitful lately. I think everyone is cleaning out their closets for Spring!
Boots: Justin via Savers (8.00)
I was so excited to find these Justin boots the other day at Savers. I have been lurking a few pairs on ebay, but really wasn't down for paying too much for used shoes. Well, another case of "good things come to those who wait"! They are in amazing condition, and I'm so excited to pair them with chambray and floral dresses this spring!
Bag: Vintage via "Sallies" (10.00)
Another thing I spotted and clutched to my chest: This vintage Mexican stamped leather bag. It still had the tags on it from the 60's! At first I didn't think it was real leather because of how new it was, but it is. Even more, there was a rolled up Mexican newspaper inside from 1962!
Thrift shopping can be such a frustrating thing sometimes, digging through all those racks of clothes, finding something amazing and not having it fit, but these little triumphs make it all worth it. Knowing you found something amazing for almost nothing!

Well, I'm off to go take more medicine and hunker down with Glamour and more SATC DVD's! Hope you lovelies are all well!
xoxo

Aw, I hope you're feeling better. I'm a total baby when I'm sick too, but I think it's okay. I think if there's ever a time to be weak and self-indulgent, it's when you're busy fighting millions of bacteria.

Oh, and HOLY. CRAP. those Justin boots are incredible!

AWESOME FINDS!!

SAVERS is by far my favorite Thrift Store EVER!! I think that the purse is lovely and especially the rolled up newspaper inside makes it all the more special!!

Theres nothing like SATC DVD's to cheer up or make the time pass by a little faster. I must say that I have been addicted to FELICITY as of late!

I love the laid back-classic outfit today!

Brooke: they are the Carrie sunglasses. how fitting since i've been watching so much SATC

CF: I've been watching Felicity too!

I am so glad I'm not the only one who HAS TO get dressed. I took a shower and got dressed before going to the emergency room last night. LOL In my defense, I was going for a painful swollen lymph node, not a severed finger or anything truly EMERGENT.

I'm also jealous of your thrifty finds! I'm always relegated to knick-knacks and vintage linens, I never have any luck with clothes, shoes, or anything like that.

Feel better soon! I'm trying to fight a cold too, at least I have an excuse to sit on the couch and read magazines all afternoon instead of do laundry :)

i know how it is to still think about how you look even when you're sick...i once had very high fever and was in bed for 2 days...my mom rushed me to the ER..but before we left, i had to wrap my hair in a scarf because it was too messy... before i know it, nurses who were friends with my sister heard rumors that i was undergoing chemo...LOL. so much for trying to look good...

That bag rocks, and a newspaper in it from 1962? Awesome. That is exactly why thrifting is so wonderful! I found a similar bag at a thrift store a few weeks ago, but I didn't get it because it turned out it belonged to my step-grandmother! I went to grab it and my step-mom started yelling, "no, no, no!" and I was naturally confused. Then she explained that after my step-grandmother passed away she donated a bunch of her stuff to the Salvation Army and the bag was one of the donated items. It's not that my step-mom didn't want me to have the bag, she just felt bad that she donated it instead of giving it to me originally.

omg felicity! I used to watch Felicity when I was in high school and dream of college with a huge, wood floored, picture window dorm room....also, I may or may not have become an RA when I got to college because of Felicity. I also may or may not have written that on my application.

Your thrifted treasures are always so awesome. It makes me want to get back out there and hunt!
Hope you feel better soon!

Love this outfit. I get the not being able to go out in your pjs! I loathe to do it! Yet it is some people's outfit du jour!!

What great thrift finds. You make me want to go thrifting SO BAD! Every time I read about thrifting on someone's blog I'm like: I MUST I MUST I MUST! Quick! Quick! Quick! Before someone snatches up my deals!

It always feels like whoever I am reading about thrifting is getting MY deals. Thank goodness I don't read any style blogs from my own town (I don't think there are any besides me!) or else things could get ugly.

I am a huge baby about being sick (like I am now). I'm on the road for workand have to be fun and peppy when meeting people but I look awful so my sunnies have been on everywhere. Being sick is sometimes an excuse to cultivate an eccentricity like sunnies indoors right?
