This heat is killing me.

Top: Thrifted ($2)
Skirt: Thrifted ($4)
Belt: Vintage (gift)
Hat: Target ($10)
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell ($60)
Bracelet: Modern Millie's Salem, MA ($4)
Massachusetts was not excluded from the heat-wave that I'm sure everybody is suffering from throughout the US. It has been abysmally hot, and even hotter inside my apartment. It felt good to actually get dressed today, at least in something other than cut off shorts or a bathing suit. This heat has definitely been putting a damper on my motivation, I think it just makes me mover really slow. Like I'm walking through sand or something.
So on to my outfit. I've had this polka-dot tank for over a year and this was the first time I've worn it. Definitely one of those things that I bought and then forgot about, and on a whim I tried it with this linen skirt I picked up on friday. I really like how the dark blue and teal work together, and adding the unexpected red of my shoes and bracelet really make the whole thing pop. The hat is really just there to cover up my frizzy hot-weather-hair.

I've received a lot of question lately regarding where I do my vintage/ thrift shopping. And while I won't get into it now, I assure you I'm working on a big post discussing the matter. If the hot weather would let up a bit so i could actually work on it!
Have a great night!
P.S. Check back tomorrow for a giveaway!

Love the oversized sun hat. And I agree that the navy and teal go together so well.

THat sun hat looks perfect for keeping cool. Hopefully the heat breaks soon. It is however a crazy good motivator to find outfits that would work near the equator!
I absolutely love the combination of colors in this outfit! So lovely! :)
I love this outfit. Very 50' sophisticated with pops of color. You look amazing.
such a lovely, classic outfit. i've been searching for a red pair of sandals similar to yours.
hot doesn't get hotter than the south; 104 in the shade + humidity to boot. a new england summer sounds refreshing!

Ohh, I hope it cools down for you soon! Here in Michigan we have a lovely reprieve of cool weather, so maybe it'll make its way over to you. I adore the teal with the pop of red - one of my favorite combinations lately :)
Love the outfit! I've been on vacation in Jackson, WY and the heat wave and the humidity didn't affect them, but I'm not on my way home to PA where the heat and humidity starts in May! I'm definitely dreading it...
You look fabulous -- that hat is amazing!

I am loving the pokka dot blouse! What a fun piece to have in your wardrobe. I've been dying to go thrifting, but yeah, the idea of getting my car and driving anywhere is most depressing.
I love the polka dot tank! The top half of your outfit reminds me of Julia in Pretty Woman at the horse race :) I need that hat... I've been looking for one exactly like it for ages.
Those red shoes are to die for!!
Such a great mix of colours and patterns in this outfit!
i've got to ask...where do you get your jeffrey campbell shoes on sale?! i've never seen any for less than $100
can't wait to see your big post on thrifting - I wrote a thrifting primer a few months back but I'm always looking for tips - can you include some input on men's wear and thrifting for Chris?
Love the combination of colors. You look gorgeous!
I keep hearing about all the heat on the East coast, and I totally feel for you guys. Chicago has been on and off so far this summer, but we've gotten a bit of respite this week. In any case, you look phenomenal in this outfit. The blue and red combo is fantastic!
i swear youre one of the only girls that can make a septum ring look fashionable, normally i loathe them! : )
what a sweet top! polka dots are really making a splash in the fash blog world i think! you, liebemarlene, and kendi everyday are wearing them all on the same day of posting!
The play of sunlight on your face through the lattice of the hat is beautiful. :)
