Sugar Magnolia

In this outfit:
Top: Thrifted ($3-ish)
Skirt: Madewell ($30- sale)
Belt: AA
Shoes: ModCloth (c. 2011)
Beaded bracelets: Gift from Punky
Gold cuff: Thrifted ($2)
Earrings c/o Noble Town Vintage

Whoa! A different background! I know, I can hardly believe it myself. Something I've been looking forward to with the days being longer and warmer is having the time to take pictures with Chris again. I seem to have lost my camera remote in our move, so Mandy and I have spent the cold dark months of winter taking photos around the office. While I love taking photos with new friends, the backgrounds were getting a little monotonous. So, after Chris and I were out of work last Wednesday, we found this beautiful tree to take pictures with.

This outfit is pretty much the opposite of what I'm wearing now- a wool sweater, long sleeve top, jeans, and loafers- who would have guessed that one week later the temperature would have dropped by half- from 80 to 40! Ugh. I know we were spoiled with warm weather at the beginning of the month, but that just made our "real" March weather seem even colder. Silk tops are kind of my thrifting weakness, my closet is full of them. You can see how I last wore this patterned silk top here.

Thank you for reading
-Julie

This has got to be one of my favorite outfits by you so far, seriously! Everything works so well, the full skirt, the soft colors in the pattern, and then the funky shoes. I wish I was wearing it right now haha. I know what you mean about the weather too- yesterday it was warm enough to go to the beach and today I'm wearing a light coat. Spring is teasing us so.

And beautiful backdrop, that tree is so lovely!

I love this top - a great thrifting find!

We've been having a weather roller coaster here too. I guess it's true what they say: "If March comes in like a lamb, it goes out like a lion."

Have a lovely weekend.

Cute outfit! I especially love your heels! My hubby takes great pics, but he tries to rush them and I don't get all the shots that I want. Lately, I have been setting up my tripod, which is such a hassle. At least I can take my time and do it at my own pace. Great location for your photos. It looks so lovely! It's so funny how opposite the weather has been for me. It was SUPER cold last week and this week it's finally warming up in Phoenix! I'm trying to get all the wear I can out of my winter clothes before it's too late!

xx Adrian

My goodness, the location is beautiful! I love how springy it is. You're right, after such nice weather it makes the cold weather feel much worse.

Your two looks with this top are both so cute! (this one and the one from 2011 I mean). We had the same surge in temperature up in Mass too, and now everyone's back to wearing turtlenecks and jeans here, too :( Can't wait to wear skirts and silk tops again!

Julie, these photos are stunning! I know you get this all the time, but your hair - my goodness, it's lovely.

I hope it warms up for you soon! The same thing happened to us up here in Michigan...but the forecast does look somewhat promising :)

So, I don't know where I have been or HOW I missed this, but I just discovered a few posts ago that you live in Pittsburgh now. Not only am I originally from Pittsburgh (living in NYC now), I also realized that you now work for Modcloth and work in close proximity to my sister Jess! (she is one of the modstylists!) When I realized all of this, I immediately had to tell my sister to pass on my compliment in person to you, but I thought I should tell you in person (er internet comment)too...I have been a quiet follower of many many fashion/style/lifestyle blogs over the last few years, but yours has been one of the only ones that I have consistantly follwed and not gotten bored of reading! Your photos and your writing style always has kept me intrigued! So :) keep up the good work girl. Blogging doesn't have to become your full-time gig, but I hope it helps to know you still have loyal follows who appreciate what you have to say and what you have to offer to the online fashion community! I just rambled for a billion pages, but I just needed to tell you!

Also! Pittsburgh is a BUST in the winter (believe me, I had lived there my entire life!) But it really is amazing and charming and has so much to offer, especially in the warmer months. Keep exploring! I hope you start to really love your new home.

This is such a lovely look on you Julie! The chambray skirt is something I've had on my wish list for spring and summer for quite some time now. I love the heels that you paired it with too. Isn't it funny how quickly the weather can change too. It was raining yesterday and today is as sunny as can be. Hope you had a nice weekend.
